Ganduje in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar promised speedy dispensation of justice on the killer to serve as deterrent to others with evil hearts of such act.

According to him, “justice must be done as a punishment to the gruesome murderer of Hanifa Abubakar Abba, 5 year pupil, who was supposed to be her caregiver.

“State will do everything possible to see that justice is done in this case. We also applaud security agents for tracking down the culprit.

“We will do our best to see that the process is done within the shortest possible time. I am also assuring all that the culprit will get the desired judgement for the heinous act.

“We will ensure diligent scrutiny of our schools for maximum security and make sure that they are on tight track. We want secure our schools and our children the more.

“The state government would continue to do it’s best for the security of the state,” Ganduje concluded.

Recalled that it was reported that Abdulmalik Tanko lured Hanifa to enter a joyride in a commercial tricycle on December 4, 2021 while coming from an Islamic school and whisked her away to Tudunwada where he operates a private school and then laced her tea with rat poison.

Despite collecting part of the N6million demanded, she was poisoned to death. The kidnappers then cut her body into pieces and buried it within the school.” Suraj Suleiman said.

Findings in the 2014 National Survey carried out by the National Population Commission with the support of UNICEF, and the United States Centres for Disease Control and Prevention shows that there is a high prevalence of violence against children in Nigeria before the age of 18.

Article 6 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child guarantees to all of the world’s children the right to life, survival and development.
