Niget State Governor, Honourable Mohammed Umaru Bago  gave this cheering news at the special Thanksgiving service to mark the inauguration of the new government  as he also made it known that he will only appoint qualified people to his cabinet and not by favouritism.

Christians in the state have been having a running battle with past state administrations in the past years to employ qualified teachers for the teaching of CRK in public schools across the state but which didn’t see the light of the day.

Speaking through his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba  at the Special Thanksgiving Service at St. Michael Catholic Cathedral Church, Minna, Bago said everybody, no matter the religion or ethnicity will be treated equally in the state.

“We will be fair and just to all persons in the state but please put us in prayers.

We will appoint and engage only those who merit it. I can assure you that our appointments will not be based on favoritism but on merit.

“This government of Niger State will revisit the call for the re-introduction of the Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) across schools because it will affect the morals of children positively,” the Governor assured.

While calling on the Christians not to relent in their prayers towards ending banditry across the state, he also called on all to be more security conscious at all times.

The state Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria,(CAN) Most Rev. Dr. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna had tasked the Governor to reintroduce to schools the Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK).

“The morals of our children are in shambles and we can only tackle it  through the re-introduction of the CRK to schools to remodel their character,” the CAN Chairman remarked

He called on people of the state  irrespective of religious and ethnic divides to be united and pray for the success of the present administration.

“If this state must move forward and if we must achieve result this time around, we have to be united, pray  and work with the current government to succeed,” he declared.
