A 27 years old bike repairer, simply called Mohammed has been alleged for rape of a 13 year old girl in Agbowa, Ikorodu, Lagos.
According to a mandated reporter, the survivor was kidnapped by Mohammed, Monday night while on an errand for her parents and he forcefully raped her in a nearby bush path close to his shop.

The mandated reporter said the girl was rushed to the Agbowa General Hospital but was later referred to Ikeja General hospital for further medical attention. The survivor for almost 24 hours later, was delayed at the police station where elders and families of the perpetrator were alleged trying to pervert justice.
With the effort of Women Empowerment and Legal Aids, a Non Governmental Organisation headed by Mrs Funmi Falana, The Divisional Police Officer, DPO has released the poor girl back to General hospital, Agbowa for First Aid treatment and also transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti.
The Criminal Code Act, Chapter C39 Law of the federal Republic of Nigeria 2004,S ection 357-358 states that any person who has unlawful canal knowledge of a woman or girl, or with her consent, if the consent is obtained by force or by means of threats or intimidation of any kind, or by fear of harm, or by means of false and fraudulent representation as to the nature of the act, or in the case of married woman, by personating her husband is guilty of an offence which is called rape.
Any person who commits the offence of rape is liable to imprisonment for life, with or without caning.
Everyone involved in this case should know that rape of minors and every child under the age of 18 is a case against the state and all action taken must be in the interest of the child.
