Teachers Day is celebrated today, 5th October, 2020.

There is no national reconstruction that can be successfully possible without their active participation. They are nation builders.

God, naturally, bestows to them the gift of molding children’s character as well as imparting enduring knowledge to them. If there were no teachers to teach lawyers, doctors, engineers and other professionals, right from their basic education to secondary, their dream would not have been realized.

Unfortunately, almost all their products earn more money as salary than they do because government has not realized that, no national reconstruction is possible without the active participation of teachers. They nourish the souls of children for life. They present the past, reveal the present and create the future. They have big minds to shape little minds. They are like candles that consume itself to light the way for others.

In celebrating the teachers across the world, UNESCO, UNICEF, ILO,  had applauded them for their immense efforts to build the world.

A joint statement by Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, Guy Ryder, Director-General, International Labour Organization, Henrietta H. Fore, Executive Director, UNICEF and  David Edwards, General Secretary, Education International, said Teachers’ Day is a reminder of  the  critical role  teachers  play  in achieving inclusive, quality education for all, adding that this year’s  event has a greater significance  in  light  of  the  challenges  that  teachers have faced during the COVID-19  crisis.

“The COVID-19 crisis has also affected over 63 million teachers, highlighted persistent weaknesses in many education   systems   and   exacerbated   inequalities,   with   devastating   consequences for the most marginalized. In this crisis, they have shown, as they have done so often, great leadership and innovation  in  ensuring  that  #LearningNeverStops,  that  no  learner  is  left  behind. Around the world, they have worked individually and collectively to find solutions and create new learning environments for their students to allow education to continue”, part of the statement read.

World Teachers Day is a special appreciation day to honor them for their special contributions of building up lives.

As the world celebrates them today, we at Kiddiesafricanews.com is saying thank you for making us what we are today.
