Girl Child is celebrated every 10th of October to ensure that all girls have access to quality education and a dignified life.

In line with this, on Tuesday, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sai’d Ahmed said the Federal Government is working hard to make sure every girl child get a quality education because they believe it’s super important for the country’s future.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Education with help from a group called AGILE, which stands for Adolescent Girls’ Initiative for Learning and Empowerment. They want to make schools a safe and happy place for every girl child everywhere.
Mrs. Binta Abulkadir, who spoke for the Minister, said the government is working hard to make sure the girl child has the same chance to go to school and finish their education just like boys.
“We want all girls to feel safe and excited to learn. We have scholarships, school meals, and safe places to help girls stay in school,” she explained.
The Minister said that every girl child is very important because she helsp build strong families and communities. She was also happy to say that in recent exams, girls did even better than boys in subjects like English, Maths, and Science!
Mrs. Amina Haruna from AGILE reminded everyone that sometimes girls face problems like violence, early marriage, or not enough health care. She said it’s important that parents, teachers, and communities work together to stop these problems so girls can be happy and successful.
She also told all girls: “Believe in yourself! Your voice is important, and you can make a big difference. Keep learning, keep growing, and always shine bright!”
