gratitude is an essential attitude

Gratitude is an essential attitude needed for every human on earth. A man who does not appreciate what he has may eventually loose it to others who are in desperate need of it. When a child learn gratitude early in life, he or she is set for a higher ground.

Oprah Winfrey, an American talk show host, television producer, actress, author, and philanthropist, said in one of her quotes, “be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”

In this short story, you will learn that there is no replacement for gratitude in life.

“There lived a wretched man in a small city, who had just a cup of beans as he could barely feed himself

‘I have no reason to live, I would make moi-moi with this beans, eat it for two days and kill myself’, the wretched man said to himself.

He made the moi-moi, ate the first wrap on the first day.

On the second day,  he took the second wrap of the moi-moi to the bush where he wanted to hang himself. He ate the meal, knotted the rope , put his head in it and just when he was about to let go of the rope, he saw someone licking the moi-moi wrap he threw on the ground.

The little man jumped down immediately and went home”.

Oh my goodness! The man licking the moi-moi wrap prayed for it and he ate it with grateful heart for God’s supply.

“None is more impoverished than the one who has no gratitude. Gratitude is a currency that we can mint for ourselves, and spend without fear of bankruptcy.” —Fred De Witt Van Amburgh
